Cut it, file it, shape it, drill it... fit it for chafing strip on the keel of your small boat, use it to prevent your mooring line from chafing, etc. This is 1/2" oval (yes, oval, not half-round). You can even let it in on your coaming to prevent line chafe.
The 12 foot piece gets coiled for shipping, so it will need smoothing out.

Half Oval Brass (1/2 inch)
Nice product. Used it on my vintage Enterprise dinghy to give the mahogany rub rail a bit more strength, plus it looks great. I had to spend a bit of time straightening it out and needed to space the screws at 4 inch intervals in order to get it flat but I guess that's the limitations of shipping a 12 foot piece of brass, it needs to be rolled. All-in-all, very happy with my order and will be purchasing more for another boat at a later date.
The brass arrived in a package looking like it came through a war; very mangled. The brass was not straight; the bends were gentle and I could still use it for my purposes. But if you needed it really straight, you’d be very disappointed.
Used this for my Shellback dinghy. Bends easily and is easily machined
