Never seriously created anything by carving - until

I purchased the spoon carving kit. Interestingly I have arthritic hands but found the carving to help.
I don't know where the time goes while carving. It is interesting studying the wood to figure what wood needs to go, and where, to make the shape wanted appear.
Finding the right angle, direction or edge comes in time. As does the seeing of shapes. I've carved three spoons - two I use!
This kit is a great restart to the simple pleasures that we started in our preteen years, only now we actually have an object that everyone understands, when finished!
